PostHeaderIconPeachy Attitude for the Lips

April 8th, 2009

LipstickRecently D&G is on investing money so that the spring/summer catwalk looks have hit the beauty counters.  As there are many colors for the lipsticks like blue, red, peaches, orange, pale lilacs and bright pastel. But it is very important to remember that, make sure the color of the lipstick matches your dress, skin and hair colors. These matching are kind of important if you want to appear at your best. Now, let’s hear it from the experts.

Celebrity make-up artist Ruby Hammer explains, “The warmer colors – oranges, peaches and gold – suit more olive skin, and mid tones can wear any color, but the paler you are, be careful with the likes of bright blues and oranges. Tone them down. Pale pastels look better with paler skin tones.”
Skin tones are reasonably easy to work out. Olive tends to tan easily, while a mid tone has a yellow allusion rather than a porcelain undertone and the hair can be dark blonde, brunette or Asian. A pale tone normally burn or turns in to pink and are associated with people with red or very fair hair. You can ask at a quality make-up counter if you’re still unsure.

After choosing the color the next big question is the option for glossy or matt? It is all up to you, I mean you decide. The best thing I can tell you is, glossy reflects light and it’s good for thinner lips and matt needs to be precisely applied and suits fuller lips.

Looking at the Revlon’s new matt collections, they include chic shades for pale skins, including Pink Pout. If want a 1950’s classic look then, try Strawberry Suede, a wearable red for mid skin tones.

For the woman who likes the wet look, L’Oreal’s Color Riche Shine Gelee has just hit the shelves. It’s a lightweight lipstick which gives a hint of gloss without color overload. It’s an also cunning way of wearing an on- trend color without feeling like an OTT fashionista. The Pretty Peach shade perfectly matches olive or tanned skin.

However, if these both flavor finishes, Lipstick Queen does every shade in a sheer and matt formula, so if you fall in love with a color you can treat in both.
For the women who likes modern look, Lancome has just released Color Fever Gloss Bitten Lips. Encouraged by the 1940s when women bit their lips to add color, it matches and increases your lip color.

Not finished yet. Dior Addict re-launching their range with 20 new high-impact shades.
Now, if you really want to enhance your look in this spring and summer, then try out these colors. I’ll bet that you won’t hate it.
