It can get infected, but mine didn’t.
I got mine done when i was 15.
It really doesn’t matter how much you weigh, as long as you feel comfortable with your body then you can get it done.
I only weigh 110 but it still doesn’t matter.

Mine got infected only because i went boogie bording and the board ripped it. and im a little heavier but i still love my belly ring
